Informal Scratch Night and Socials
Championing new work by and/or for women.
About Our Informal Scratch Nights
We love celebrating new writing and connecting with like-minded creatives, so in November 2025, we began hosting Informal Scratch Nights and Socials.Â

These events allow writers to share snippets of new material with an art-loving audience in a supportive, pressure-free environment. We welcome extracts from plays, musicals, poetry, spoken word, or narrative texts that celebrate women’s voices. This could mean you are a female-identifying writer, or that your story centres around women.

Scratch nights are built around feedback, as this is a vital part of any writer’s process. We noticed that events hosted in traditional theatre spaces can sometimes create a sense of formality that inhibits open communication between the audience and the creatives involved. That’s why we host ours in beautiful, relaxed, and cosy venues that help everyone feel at ease. Think comfy sofas, plants, fairy lights, and friendly faces! We aim to create a space where writers and audiences feel comfortable mingling, connecting, and sharing feedback in person.Â
